Southern Oregon Veterinary Specialty Center (SOVSC) is a regional specialty and emergency referral center serving pets and families throughout Southern Oregon and Northern California. Our hospital brings Emergency, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Dermatology, and Urgent Care together with a highly trained support team, creating an environment where specialists can collaborate closely on complex cases and provide comprehensive patient care.

Our hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including digital radiography, ultrasound, CT, multiple surgical suites, a dedicated orthopedic suite, an onsite pharmacy, a well-equipped in-house laboratory, and an internal blood donation program.

In your day-to-day, you will:
- Manage a diverse dermatology caseload, providing advanced diagnostic and treatment recommendations for patients with complex dermatologic conditions
- Perform comprehensive dermatologic examinations and develop individualized diagnostic and treatment plans
- Utilize advanced diagnostic capabilities, including digital radiography, ultrasound, CT, in-house laboratory testing, and other diagnostics as clinically indicated
- Collaborate closely with Emergency, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Critical Care, and Urgent Care teams on multidisciplinary cases
- Work with referring veterinarians to provide consultation and advanced dermatologic care for patients throughout the region
- Develop strong relationships with referring veterinarians and serve as a trusted resource for veterinary dermatology in Southern Oregon
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, long-term management, and prognosis
- Mentor technicians and support staff in dermatology diagnostics, treatment protocols, and patient care
- Help grow and develop the Dermatology service in alignment with hospital and community needs
- Participate in continuing education and knowledge-sharing opportunities within SOVSC and the broader Ethos network
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, compassion, innovation, and clinical excellence
What You Bring
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Oregon veterinary licensure
- Board Certification in Veterinary Dermatology (DACVD) or Residency Trained in Veterinary Dermatology and board eligible
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills with an interest in complex dermatologic cases
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care
- An interest in building relationships with referring veterinarians and contributing to the growth of specialty medicine in the region
- A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, mentorship, and advancing specialty medicine
