The supervisor is also responsible for assisting in the administrative and clinical direction if the unit and coordinating nursing department functions/activities as needed./ppEssential Functions:/pulliUtilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status/liliDetermining the priority of the patients problems and needs/liliImplementing clinical nursing interventions/liliHaving a highly diverse skillset/liliDeveloping and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes/liliEnsuring a safe and therapeutic environment/liliCollaborate with the interdisciplinary care team/liliCare for groups of patients in a fast-paced, high intensity setting as part of an interprofessional team focused on achieving the best individual patient and population outcomes/liliEvaluates, updates and revises the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes/liliServes as point of contact for patients care coordination throughout hospital departments/liliProvides care to a broad spectrum of patients ranging from short stay to trauma/liliAdminister medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organizations policies and procedures/liliOther duties as assigned/li/ulpEducation:/pulliGraduate from an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred./liliCurrent licensure in good standing with Virginia Board of Nurse Examiners./li/ulpCertifications:/pulliBLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire); PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, required in lieu of BLS/ACLS for Pediatric Units, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care) BCLS, ACLS required.
