Job Summary The primary purpose of your job is to provide nursing services in the Nursing Acute in accordance with the current applicable Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations and established policies and procedures as directed by leadership. Responsibilities Assesses physical, psychological and social dimensions of the patient and applies knowledge of illnesses, injuries and disease using available resources in the assessment process. Provides written assessment on admission and documents nursing interventions, patient response, effectiveness and complications; summarizes information on discharge. Summarizes assessment data and develops a nursing care plan, written and communicated to other patient care providers. Implements plan of care and clinical and technical aspects of care and nursing orders in accordance with policies and procedures. Intervenes with proper technique, procedure and safety precautions to meet individual patient needs. Functions within the limits of the State Nurse Practice Act and hospital/nursing department policies. Performs patient and family instruction/education and discharge planning; communicates plan via Bedside Shift Report and provides verbal and written instructions including medication and side effects. Professional leadership: reports patient care or management problems to Clinical Coordinator or supervisor; investigates and intervenes in problem situations; assigns outpatient work based on acuity and staff qualifications/experience; coordinates unit routines and orients new staff; ensures emergency equipment is present and functional. Unit Requirements Acute care- MED/SURG: care for patients across age groups (pediatrics to geriatrics) and for surgical, medical, and short-term psychiatric patients. Demonstrates knowledge of medications specific to the acute care population and a safe environment. Completes annual nursing competencies and mandatory training. Education and Qualifications Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Licenses and Credentials: Registered Nurse (RN) - state license. Experience: Various roles with preferences listed (ED, Med/Surg, Perioperative, Dialysis, Infusion, LDRP, NCMG, etc.). Certifications: BLS/CPR required within one week of hire (AHA/ARC accepted); ACLS and PALS required prior to orientation completion or within 6 months of hire where applicable; other certifications as needed per specialty (e.g., NRP, CPI/AVADE/MOAB, TNCC, etc.). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ED: Ability to coordinate and supervise staff, communicate with customers, operate standard nursing practice equipment, and perform duties with physical requirements (standing/walking 90%+, lifting up to 300 pounds, etc.). Med/Surg: Effective communication, use of equipment, CPR/BLS; ACLS/PALS as required; professional certification in applicable nursing fields preferred. NCMG: Basic nursing principles, computer skills, EMR familiarity, analytical and interpersonal skills; leadership and management capabilities; strong communication. Perioperative/Dialysis/Infusion/LDRP: Section-specific requirements including on-call capability, certifications (ACLS/PALS), equipment operation, and patient handling requirements. Other Details Additional Job Details: 36 hours or 24 hours per week, rotating shifts. Per diem available. Remote type: Onsite. Work location: One Hospital Road. Pay range: RN6400.
