Clinical Pharmacist Ambulatory

Job Description This position demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate, safe, efficient and cost‑effective pharmaceutical care within the scope of their assigned practice. The pharmacist will work Monday – Friday, daytime shifts with no weekends or holidays. Essential Functions Review patient medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness of drug therapy, and drug‑drug interaction. Make evidence‑based interventions to optimize medication use and ensure safe, appropriate, cost‑effective therapies. Accurately dispense medications and oversee proper preparation, storage, and timely delivery to care areas. Provide counseling to patients and promote quality medication education and adherence. Complete regulatory and compliance training; ensure all documentation meets clear & complete standards. Maintain knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, pharmacy policies, procedures, and SOPs. Supervise and direct the activities of interns, technicians, and support personnel as required. Provide medication‑related clinical consultation and clarification to other health professionals. Tackle problems related to equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing, and extraordinary patient care concerns. Identify potential areas for improvement and safety hazards; take appropriate actions. Participate in departmental meetings and support clinic/hospital and system directives. Support local and enterprise pharmacy leadership initiatives. Skills Pharmacy services, medication management, pharmaceutical care, project management, quality improvement, problem solving. Federal pharmacy laws, state pharmacy laws. Minimum Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution. License to practice pharmacy in the state of practice and dispense controlled substances. Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding pharmacy practice. Effective communication, people management, and project management skills. Immunization certification if applicable to the practice site needs. Preferred: Experience with complex medication management in primary care, interdisciplinary interactions, precepting experience, prior experience in an integrated healthcare delivery system, board certification, health system residency. Physical Requirements See and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Verbal communication skills; hear and understand spoken information quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity for manipulating complex and delicate supplies and equipment. Frequent computer use for typing and accessing information. Location Intermountain Health St Vincent Regional Hospital, Billings, Montana. Schedule & Compensation Weekly hours: 40.
