Responsibilities Live our purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance through coaching and follow‑up. Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Provide compassionate patient experiences, resolving insurance or medication issues when appropriate. Proactively offer and administer immunizations, supporting technicians to learn immunization skills. Manage pharmacy inventory, coaching the team on best practices, especially for cold‑chain products. Conduct onboarding for technicians, pharmacists, and store staff, ensuring timely completion of required training and licensure. Maintain compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating issues to the Rx DL as needed. Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues willing to work in pharmacy. Manage Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, delivering performance reviews and closing gaps. Write, delegate, and oversee pharmacy schedule, remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs. Review business reports for operational insights and develop action plans to close gaps in workflow, service, patient care, and compliance. Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, encouraging feedback and taking relevant action. Maintain clinical and technical skills through required training and continuing medical education. Support pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible. Comply with all federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, including controlled substance dispensing and recordkeeping. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1–2 years of experience as a Pharmacist. Essential Functions Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within the designated timeframe. Maintain attention to tasks and pivot quickly to meet patient and business needs. Confirm prescription information and label accuracy for patient safety. Offer customer‑service orientation, responding to patient reactions with appropriate care. Use clear verbal and written communication; employ active listening. Apply mathematical reasoning for dispensing calculations. Resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions effectively. Remain mobile, upright, and able to lift and move items as required. Communicate details accurately in spoken and written form. Physical Demands Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods. Lift, scan, and bag items. Reach overhead and stretch to grasp items. Use fingers repetitively for typing or similar tasks. Lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally; up to 10 lbs. frequently. Perform visual tasks such as transcription and inspection of small parts. Team Management and Leadership Lead by example and set a positive tone for the team. Delegate tasks, empower members, and foster collaboration. Motivate and inspire adherence to standards and high performance. Apply problem‑solving skills to address challenges. Adapt to changing circumstances and take ownership. Coach, reinforce, provide feedback, discipline, or terminate staff as needed. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program. 3–5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Ability to work in the home store and across other market locations as needed. Compensation and Benefits Pay Range: $65.00 - $81.00 per hour (or salary equivalent). The actual offer is based on experience, education, geography, and other factors. The position is eligible for a bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive program.
