Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Your day-to-day will involve individualized instruction aligned with adapted curriculum standards, fostering both academic and personal growth among your students. Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to create a supportive, inclusive classroom community. You’ll manage routines, employ behavior intervention techniques, and collect actionable data to inform instruction and monitor student progress. Your role is pivotal in encouraging independence and social, behavioral, and functional development.
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Georgia Special Education Certification
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Proficient in developing and carrying out effective IEPs
- Strong classroom management and behavior intervention abilities
- Preferred: Adapted Curriculum certification or experience
- Background working with students with significant cognitive disabilities
- Familiarity with ABA strategies, structured teaching, visual supports, and functional communication systems
- Leadership experience supervising classroom paraprofessionals
Responsibilities
- Directly instruct students using adapted curriculum standards
- Develop, implement, and oversee individualized education plans
- Maintain productive classroom routines and robust behavioral systems
- Partner with team members and families to support student progress
- Continuously evaluate and adjust instruction based on student data
- Support holistic development—including communication, social, and functional skills
The school district will require three professional references, including one from a recent supervisor, before scheduling an interview.
