Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid Georgia Special Education Certification
• Demonstrated experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Proficient in developing and carrying out effective IEPs
• Strong classroom management and behavior intervention abilities
• Preferred: Adapted Curriculum certification or experience
• Background working with students with significant cognitive disabilities
• Familiarity with ABA strategies, structured teaching, visual supports, and functional communication systems
• Leadership experience supervising classroom paraprofessionals

Responsibilities

• Directly instruct students using adapted curriculum standards
• Develop, implement, and oversee individualized education plans
• Maintain productive classroom routines and robust behavioral systems
• Partner with team members and families to support student progress
• Continuously evaluate and adjust instruction based on student data
• Support holistic development—including communication, social, and functional skills

The school district will require three professional references, including one from a recent supervisor, before scheduling an interview.
