Process Engineer

Job Overview Responsible for keeping all injection processes at a production‑ready level at the plant. Performs root‑cause analysis, troubleshoots, and directs repairs and process adjustments needed for injection lines and tools. Responsibilities & Authorities Skilled in the operation of injection molding equipment; establishes and sustains molding processes and cycle time reductions on high‑cavitation, high‑volume single‑face and stack molds. Directs and trains the Process Technicians. Samples and tests new molds and machines; establishes processes using decoupled, scientific molding techniques. Coordinates all process capability studies and DOE sampling; establishes process control limits. Optimizes processes through scientific molding. Skilled in CIM and SPC concepts. Maintains job‑management files. Fills in for the tool‑shop supervisor when the supervisor is out of the plant. Troubleshoots and directs injection processes; performs root‑cause analysis to determine immediate actions and identifies staff who need to be called in. Leads and participates in cross‑functional process‑improvement teams. Actively participates in daily team production meetings, communicating key items related to safety, quality, maintenance, production, and continuous improvement. Contributes to work instructions in the department by writing, revising, and training others on those instructions. Completes QRQC when assigned. Maintains a 5S environment in the work area. Participates in tooling optimization and cost‑control/reduction activities. Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies. Accepts responsibility to comply with all safety, quality, customer, ISO, SQF, and other regulatory requirements; reports concerns that could impact these requirements or suggests areas for improvement. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications 2‑4 year engineering degree preferred. Expertise in injection molding systems and techniques; engineering skill level in process and tooling. Possesses well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates organizational skills and is detail oriented. Professional with at least 4‑6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in a plastics injection environment. Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting. Ability to speak, read, and write English. Ability to work in a fast‑paced multi‑task environment. Self‑motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
