About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Fort Morgan, Colorado, 80701!

• Provide direct patient care on a 14-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage common diagnoses including CHF, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure
• Titrate drips including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives as ordered
• Independently read and interpret telemetry strips and escalate concerns to the physician as appropriate - no monitor techs on unit
• Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and ventilators
• Fulfill weekend, holiday, call/standby, and floating requirements as determined by unit needs and nurse manager direction

• Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Ability to independently read telemetry strips and recognize concerning rhythms
• Comfort working in a rural hospital environment with lower resource availability
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
• Clinicians must be present in-state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely

• Prior experience working in a rural or critical access hospital setting
• Familiarity with titrating common drip protocols including anticoagulants and antihypertensives
• Experience with respiratory support equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and mechanical ventilation
