Join a small, collaborative team as a Shipping and Receiving Specialist, where you will manage daily shipping and receiving activities, handle materials and small parts, and ensure accurate, timely movement of goods using computer-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against packing lists or purchase orders, and accurately record all received materials in the system.
• Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and staging orders according to company standards and customer requirements.
• Operate within an ERP or similar system to process shipping and receiving transactions and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Coordinate shipments using carriers such as FedEx and UPS, including creating shipping labels and documentation as needed.
• Handle general warehouse tasks, including organizing stock, maintaining clean and orderly storage areas, and ensuring materials are properly labeled and stored.
• Perform material handling duties, including lifting, moving, and stacking items up to 50 pounds safely and efficiently.
• Work with small parts, using strong hand dexterity to pick, sort, and package items accurately and carefully.
• Use computers to enter data, update records, and track orders and inventory with a high level of accuracy.
• Apply basic math skills to verify counts, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure correct quantities for both incoming and outgoing materials.
• Collaborate with a small team to meet daily shipping and receiving goals and support overall warehouse operations.
• Follow all company procedures and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes, including material handling and general warehouse tasks.
• Familiarity with ERP systems or similar software for processing shipping and receiving transactions.
• Experience working with carriers such as FedEx and UPS for outbound shipments.
• Ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Strong hand dexterity and ability to handle small parts accurately and efficiently.
• High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in counts, documentation, and labeling.
• Good computer skills, including data entry and basic system navigation.
• Basic math skills to perform counts, verify quantities, and reconcile discrepancies.

• Experience working on a small team in a warehouse or shipping and receiving environment.
• Comfort working in a structured, process-driven setting with defined procedures.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet shipping and receiving deadlines.

Work Environment

This role follows a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing a consistent daytime work pattern. You will work as part of a small team in a warehouse setting focused on shipping, receiving, and material handling. The environment involves handling small parts and lifting items up to 50 pounds, using computers and ERP or similar systems to process orders and inventory. The workspace emphasizes organization, safety, and teamwork to keep operations running smoothly.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ayer, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
