Currency Verification Specialist

This position is responsible for verifying bulk currency deposits and supporting accurate automated note processing. The role includes preparing currency for processing, reviewing rejected notes for fitness and counterfeit concerns, recording discrepancies, and ensuring currency is routed appropriately for reconciliation or destruction procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and verify bulk currency deposits for automated note processing.
• Prepare currency for processing, including identifying and correcting notes of incorrect denominations within straps.
• Process bundles through the Banknote Processing System (BPS).
• Review and reconcile currency rejected by the system due to potential fitness or counterfeit concerns.
• Use the Reconciling Station (RS) to verify rejected currency.
• Prepare unfit currency for Independent Destroy All (IDA) procedures.
• Detect counterfeit currency and follow established handling procedures.
• Record bank differences, shortages, and overages identified during verification.
• Maintain accuracy, security, and compliance throughout all currency handling activities.

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and follow verification procedures consistently.
• Comfort working with automated processing systems and structured operational workflows.
• Ability to handle sensitive materials securely and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
• Prior experience in cash handling, currency operations, banking, vault operations, or a similar environment preferred.
