Sr. Field Project Engineer

Eaton’s Electrical Sector Project Management Organization is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to serve the West region. This hybrid position will be based in either our Tukwila, WA, Wilsonville, OR, Littleton, CO or Chandler, AZ locationWhat you’ll do:The Senior Field Project Engineer supports order management through technical ownership of the order and creates a positive customer experience through a proactive approach to project support and issue resolution. This position leverages available resources to manage documentation, resolve issues, and successfully builds relationships across customers and Eaton facilities to execute complex projects and aids the Project Manager in maintaining customer satisfaction and overall, on-time-performance. This position works independently on daily tasks and collaborates with the plants, project, and sales teams as needed to maintain orders until the end of its life cycleIn this function you will:Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers for assigned projectsReview and interpret contract drawings and specifications ensuring technical accuracyManage technical changes to the bill of materialCoordinate and interpret engineered-to-order drawingsLeverage centralized resources to create and manage project documentationProvide technical support and follow-through to drive all warranty issues to closureAct as the technical liaison between customers, sales, and factories to efficiently carry out technical order configuration, documentation, and warranty resolutions.Serve as the customer’s advocate by relaying the appropriate level of urgency to peer contacts in Eaton’s manufacturing facilities and escalating issues as required to managementPursue continuous learning of products and applications related to engineered productsCollaborate with the Project Management Team including Project Managers, Sales Engineers, Project Coordinators, other Project Engineers, and the Documentation TeamLead verbal or written communication with internal and external stakeholders to address technical scope and design concernsProvide guidance to less senior engineers with relationships to technical and commercial execution of job dutiesQualifications:Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institutionMinimum 3 years of work experience in project management, sales, sales support, technical role or applicable fieldRelocation assistance is not available. Candidates must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of Chandler, AZ, Tukwila, WA, Littleton, CO or Wilsonville, OR to be considered.Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applicable technical fieldElectrical industry expertise and product knowledgePrior contractor, sales, and/or sales support experience with focus on the following customer bases: wastewater treatment, government, utility, commercial construction, data center, etc.Experience with customer specs and electrical drawingsProficiency in applications required for job function (Eaton Bid Manager, AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, customer quality management tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft O365)Position Criteria:Possess technical sales aptitude, market knowledge, and electrical industry experienceCapable of working independently and in a team environment, using strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to establish customer relationships within the market area while maintaining and growing existing customer relationshipsPossess organizational, presentation, training, and planning skillsUnderstand project management processes for supporting a project and take on a proactive approach in addressing open tasks or issuesCapable of organizing multiple multi-million-dollar projects simultaneously throughout various phasesAbility to travel 10% of the timeThe expected annual salary range for this role is $84000 - $123000 a year.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
