Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• Experience with managing a self-contained classroom, ideally at the elementary level
• Strong understanding of IEP processes, progress monitoring, and goal-setting
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable engaging with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Passion for supporting students with varying abilities and a creative approach to adapting lessons

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to individual student needs within a self-contained setting
• Create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom culture that encourages independence and self-advocacy
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education staff to implement IEPs effectively
• Track progress, collect data, and participate in meetings to ensure compliance with educational standards
• Communicate regularly with families, providing updates on student growth and developing collaborative strategies for success
