Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) position located in a small, vibrant community setting. This role involves providing critical respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients, with a particular emphasis on neonatal, pediatric, and critical care populations. The position requires working across diverse clinical settings, including a level II nursery, and ensuring adherence to department protocols, with an expectation for autonomous work and supervision of others as delegated.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with rotating days based on departmental needs.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelors). Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) credential or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential; Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in California; BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications from approved vendors; minimum of 2 years of experience, including critical care and level II nursery experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree; three years technical experience; Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) certification; recent NICU/OB experience.
• Additional Information: The clinical duties include assessing therapy appropriateness, administering aerosol and oxygen treatments, drawing arterial blood gases, providing ventilator care, performing pulmonary function tests, and assisting with specialized procedures such as bronchoscopies. Responsibilities also encompass equipment maintenance, quality control, staff training, and patient/family education regarding cardio-respiratory health. The role involves floating to a neighboring facility as needed and maintaining compliance with ventilation and infection prevention protocols.
