Substitute Teacher TeachIowa Keokuk Comm School District - Keokuk, Iowa This job is also posted in TeachIowa, Iowa's Marketplace for education jobs Job Details Job ID: 5889122 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Aug 17, 2026 12:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher and deliver instruction to students in a variety of subjects and grade levels Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of students Provide support and assistance to students with special needs or learning disabilities Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to ensure continuity of instruction Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred Experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting Knowledge of lesson planning and curriculum development Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to effectively manage a classroom and handle behavior management issues Familiarity with early childhood education principles and practices Experience working with students with autism or special needs is a plus Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and strategies As a Substitute Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work in various classrooms and grade levels, gaining valuable experience in different educational settings.
