Maintenance Mechanic

Summary of Position: The entry level Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair & maintain production & facility equipment according to safety, predictive & productive maintenance systems & processes to the to support the achievement of the site’s business goals & objectives. Duties Of Position Perform highly diversified duties to install & maintain production machines & the plant facility’s equipment Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production & performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service Perform simple machinist duties & responsibilities Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting & repair of production machines Read & interpret equipment manuals & work orders to perform required maintenance & service Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test & make adjustments Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment & plant facilities Use a variety of hand & power tools, electric meters & material handling equipment in performing duties Adhere to all safety policies; identify & report unsafe co nditions to Supervisor Maintain a safe clean & organized work area Other duties as assigned by supervisor Education Requirements Certificate in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred. High school diploma/GED & completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education & production maintenance experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc., with precision Ability to work on teams or alone Ability to read & perform basic mathematics Basic computer skills Working Conditions May be exposed to loud noises, dirt, dust & fumes; moving mechanical parts & vibration Production floor is not temperature controlled year round Physical Requirements Must be able to lift &/or move minimum 75 pounds for most machinery This position is very active & requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, & climbing all day Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception & ability to adjust focus Machines/Equipment Used Various production equipment Various hand & power tools #FME Arnold Magnetic Technologies is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected status or characteristic.
