Public Area Attendant

Job Summary The Public Area / Lobby Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of all public spaces throughout the hotel. This position helps create a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests by ensuring the lobby, restrooms, hallways, elevators, meeting space, and other public areas are clean, organized, and well maintained at all times. Key Responsibilities Clean and maintain the hotel lobby, public restrooms, hallways, elevators, stairwells, and other assigned public areas Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors, furniture, fixtures, and glass surfaces Monitor and replenish restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and tissue Empty trash receptacles and replace liners in all assigned public areas Clean entrance doors, windows, mirrors, and high-touch surfaces regularly Maintain cleanliness of meeting rooms, pre-function areas, fitness center, and other guest-facing spaces as assigned Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items to the appropriate department promptly Respond quickly to spills, guest requests, and special cleaning needs Ensure cleaning carts, storage areas, and supplies are organized and properly stocked Follow hotel brand standards, safety procedures, and proper use of cleaning chemicals Provide friendly and professional service when interacting with guests and team members Support housekeeping and other departments as needed Qualifications Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred, but not required Ability to work independently and efficiently with attention to detail Good time management and organizational skills Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move for extended periods Able to lift up to 25–40 pounds as needed Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays Basic understanding of cleanliness and guest service standards Work Environment Fast-paced hotel environment Requires frequent walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting May involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures Performance Expectations Maintain a clean, neat, and guest-ready appearance in all public areas Complete daily cleaning assignments on time and according to hotel standards Deliver courteous and professional guest service at all times Help ensure a positive first impression for every guest entering the hotel Public Area / Lobby Attendant We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Public Area / Lobby Attendant to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all public spaces in our HolidayInn hotel.
