Job Summary The Trauma Registrar is responsible for data collection, abstraction and the analysis of trauma registry data. This position evaluates and interprets patient data in reference to ICD-10 and AIS coding classification. Complies with NTDS standards in analyzing data for diagnoses. Responsibilities Principal job functions include trauma registry data collection, data entry, injury coding and scoring, and complication identification. Ensures charts are completed and closed within 60 days of patient discharge. Validates data through the completion of concurrent chart review to confirm quality standards are met. Works with the Trauma Program leadership by collecting and tracking data points to assist with Performance Improvement initiatives. Assists in preparing data for site visits, TQIP and NJ State submissions. Acquires and maintains competencies, certifications, and continuing education to meet any facility accreditation or individual licensing requirements or unit‑based needs. Other duties and/or projects as assigned. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Qualifications – Required High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs. Experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR), such as EPIC. Experience working with a registry. Knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms. Qualifications – Preferred Bachelor's degree in healthcare or other related field. Minimum of three (3) years experience as a Trauma Registrar for a Level I or Level II Trauma Center. Licenses And Certifications – Preferred Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) Certification. Compensation Minimum rate of $25.77 hourly. Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
