Specialty Plastic Surgery State IA Location 1111 6th Avenue, Des Moines, IA Requirements MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is looking for a Plastic Surgeon to fill their full‑time need! The position will begin with call coverage and will later incorporate clinic and OR duties. Applicants must be ready to begin call‑only coverage by July 10. Patient contact hours are 36 per week. Call rotations occur Monday through Friday with weekly coverage. Clinic hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. Procedural/OR days are 2‑4 per week. Current call schedule includes soft‑tissue call plus clinic call/EMTALA. Options are 7 on/7 off or 2 weeks on/2 weeks off. Inpatient Responsibility: Yes at MercyOne Medical Center Outreach: No Telehealth: No Number of Physicians: 1 Number of Advanced Practice Providers: 1 Supervision of APPs expected: No Nursing Support: 1:1 Ancillary Staff per provider: 0.5:1 Medical Imaging: Yes Lab & Pharmacy: Yes Clinic Provider Daily Volume: 16 visits per day, depending on type Appointment Length: 15‑30 minutes Patient Demographics: Surgical and cosmetic patients of all ages EMR: Epic Teaching Opportunity: Yes Job Responsibilities Trauma call ER consults In‑office consults & procedures Reconstructive collaboration with breast surgeons Billing & Compensation Bill rates and malpractice must be submitted. 24‑hour on‑call rate cap: $4,000 (includes 4 hours gratis). Holiday on‑call 24‑hour availability with call back after 2 hours gratis. Conversion fee rate cap: $25,000. Travel & Reimbursement Flights: $750 per round‑trip cap, including all taxes and fees (no upgraded airfares or seat upgrades). Lodging: 1.5× the GSA rate cap average, including taxes and fees. Rental Car: $55 per day cap, including taxes and fees; SUV/upgrades over cap require pre‑approval. Mileage: IRS Standard Rate. Trinity Health does not reimburse for any application or credentialing fees.
