The ideal candidate can look at the big picture connecting the dots between market trends, product lifecycles, MOQs, lead times to build accurate forecasts. You are a natural problem solver who thrives on collaboration, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our inventory levels always align with the forward momentum of the business.**Major Activities*** **Demand Planning:** Own the unconstrained demand forecast, proactively improving accuracy through trend analysis and market insights.* **Assortment Strategy:** Understand the role of each item in the assortment and customize the inventory approach (e.g., safety stock levels, lead times) accordingly. **Cross-*** **Functional Leadership:** Serve as the inventory expert within the product category team, driving decisions on future buys and stock positioning.* **Lifecycle Management:** Lead the E2E lifecycle strategy; design and execute sell-down plans for discontinued inventory to protect margins.* **Proactive Mitigation:** Anticipate OOS and overstock risks before they happen by analyzing business performance trends.**Other duties as assigned****Minimum Type of Experience Required*** Bachelors Degree (Masters preferred in Supply Chain or Analytics).* 35 years of experience in demand planning or inventory management.* Experience with advanced Planning/Forecasting tools (e.g., Blue Yonder).**Applicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.**At The Michaels Companies Inc., our purpose is to fuel the joy of creativity and celebration.
