Location: New Rochelle, New York. Role: Interventional Radiology Technologist (4T). Hourly Rate: $43.50. Job Summary Under the direction of a radiologist, performs special procedure examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis and image‑guided treatment. Essential Functions Patient and Room Preparation Enter patient data into RIS and other computer systems. Place patient on the procedure table in the correct position. Obtain appropriate scout film. Position monitors, foot switches, table controls, and lighting for the procedure. Ensure error‑free data entry. Room Turnaround Achieve a 15‑minute turnaround after the previous case. Work in parallel with nursing, medical, and technological staff to maintain efficiency. Obtain cut film and digital images Set exposure factors and equipment to obtain high‑quality images. Maintain a retake rate of less than 3% due to improper exposure or positioning. Direct involvement during procedure Assist at the interventional radiologist’s side with sterile equipment. Monitor procedure progression, exposure factors, and fluoroscopy time. Operate injector when necessary. Maintain error‑free sterile technique and constant awareness. Maintain imaging workflow in RIS‑IC and G.E. Centricity PACS Track exams through all steps of the process. Verify images in PACS for correct patient, exam type, labeling, and orientation. Photographing and processing images Photograph, label, and display digital images in proper order. Ensure high‑quality, error‑free labeling and display. Document records Maintain records of films, fluoroscopy time, injections, and other required data. Observe safety and identification rules Follow regulations regarding patient identification and radiation safety for patients and staff. Prevent misidentification or misadministration. Training and supervision Train other associates and students in special procedures. Demonstrate knowledgeable information. Maintain environment Keep the assigned area orderly, clean, and aseptic. Maintain a sterile field. Perform 4T technologist duties as needed Provide high‑quality, cooperative support. Qualifications Preferred: Licensed by the State of New York. Required: GED. Required: 1–3 years of experience. Required: Knowledge of Special Procedure/Angiographic Systems. Required: Working knowledge of radiographic exposure equipment, PACS (G.E. Centricity), RIS‑IC, and other computer databases. Required: ARRT certification – Registered Radiologic Technologist. Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Required: Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training and certification by the ARRT. Required: Licensed by the State of New York.
