Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Automation

Bio-Techne seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to oversee automation strategy and process optimization across filling, kitting, packaging, and shipping operations. The role involves designing and maintaining manufacturing systems, managing capital automation projects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives in a Minneapolis-based facility.

Responsibilities

Maintain presence in manufacturing areas to observe operations and identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste
Conduct time studies, line balancing, and process mapping to assess performance and opportunities
Define and execute automation strategy incorporating robotics, vision systems, PLCs, and collaborative robots
Own capital automation projects from concept through commissioning, including validation and business case development
Lead cross-functional initiatives to industrialize new products and establish engineering best practices

Requirements

Master's degree with 2–5 years relevant experience, or bachelor's with 5–8 years, or associate with 10+ years
5+ years of automation or manufacturing engineering experience
Mechanical and electrical aptitude
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and statistical software (Minitab/JMP)
Strong troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration abilities
Work authorization without sponsorship requirement

Compensation: $100,800–$165,600
