Family Resource Specialist

Position Title: Family Resource Specialist Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Indianapolis, IN Position Summary The Family Resource Specialist serves as a key support professional for individuals and families by connecting them with community resources, providing case management services, and promoting family stability and well-being. This role works collaboratively with families, community partners, schools, healthcare providers, and social service agencies to assess needs, develop service plans, and ensure access to available supports. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify family strengths, needs, and goals. Develop individualized service plans and monitor progress toward established objectives. Connect families with community resources, including housing, food assistance, healthcare, childcare, employment, transportation, and educational services. Provide advocacy and support to help families navigate social service systems. Maintain accurate and timely documentation, case notes, referrals, and reports. Facilitate workshops, support groups, and educational programs for families. Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and service providers. Conduct outreach activities to engage underserved populations. Monitor and evaluate service effectiveness and client outcomes. Participate in team meetings, training opportunities, and program improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, confidentiality standards, and applicable regulations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Education, or a related field. Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working with children, families, or vulnerable populations. Knowledge of community resources and social service systems. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and cultural backgrounds. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if required). Preferred Qualifications Bilingual or multilingual abilities. Experience in case management, family support services, or community outreach. Knowledge of trauma-informed care and family-centered practices. Certification in social services, family support, or related fields.
