Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Start Date: ASAP Duration: 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights (7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.) Employment Type: Travel Facility: 637 licensed beds, Level 1 Trauma Designation, Teaching Hospital, Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center Unit: 14 beds, census 14, requires 2 years ICU RN experience, accepts first‑time travelers Patient types: Medical ICU patients—respiratory failure, renal failure, sepsis, GI bleed, DKA, hypotension, hypertension, stroke, pneumonia, cancer, ARDS, overdoses, chronic ventilators, chronic trachs Patient ratios: RN : 1:1‑2 (rarely 1:3), CNA : 1‑2 per shift Required certifications: NIHSS, BLS, ACLS; CCRN preferred Skills: trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucometer use, insulin and heparin drips, vasoactive medication management, invasive line monitoring (arterial, central venous, intracranial pressure), bedside procedures (chest tube, tracheostomy, PEG), ventilator support Support staff: CNAs, charge nurse, phlebotomy, PICC team, dosage nurse, RT, hospitalist, intensivist, telemetry techs, EMTs Technology: EMR EPIC, IV pump Alaris, Med dispensing Pyxis, monitors Phillips; unit equipment includes VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat strips, Belmont Rapid Infuser, TABLO, PCA pain management, SCDs, cooling and heating blankets Floating: All adult ICU units in house including PCU Orientation: 1 day facility modules, 2 days departmental Other notes: RN scrub color navy, free parking available around campus, busy but collaborative unit culture Shift & Compensation 12‑hour night shifts, 36 hours per week (7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.). Pay based on 12‑hour shifts at $1,930 per week, with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
