3DQ Lab Technologist II - 1.0 FTE Rotating (08-HR) - Hybrid

The Stanford Health Care 3D and Quantitative Imaging Laboratory (3DQ Lab) is a specialized interdisciplinary center within the Stanford Department of Radiology. Its core mission is to develop and apply innovative software and visualization techniques to analyze medical imaging data, translating complex 2D data into actionable clinical models. 3D & 4D Visualization: Converts standard CT and MRI scans into multiplanar reconstructions, volume‑rendered graphics, and virtual endoscopies. Uses 4D temporal rendering to assess cardiac and anatomical structures in motion. TRAC Program: Standardizes oncology tracking by measuring longitudinal tumor size changes over time. Surgical Navigation Support: Prepares digital models for real‑time guidance during procedures. Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR): Provides volumetric measurements and mapping of the delivery pathway. Medical 3D Printing & Modeling: Segments complex anatomies for physical patient‑specific guides, custom orthotics, and hardware models. A Brief Overview The 3D Lab Technologist II works under limited supervision to independently perform advanced 3D post‑processing and image reconstruction, supporting clinical imaging workflows. They collaborate closely with radiologists and other clinicians to generate high‑quality images using established and advanced protocols, assist with training and workflow coordination, and support research activities as needed. What you will do Independently perform advanced 3D post‑processing and image reconstruction using established and complex protocols. Operate 3D workstations and related systems to generate, analyze, and manage imaging data. Work closely with radiologists on complex 3D post‑processing and image reconstruction. Provide workflow support and assist with coordination of daily operations in the absence of the Lead Technologist or Supervisor. Participate in orientation and training of assigned staff, students, and residents. Troubleshoot equipment and system issues and escalates as appropriate. Post‑process volumetric digital image data, produce quantitative measurements, and ensure images meet quality standards. Accurately record all procedures performed and maintain required documentation and databases. Assist with quality assurance activities and adhere to departmental protocols and standards. Support department operations and workflow as needed. Assist with research activities and imaging protocols as needed. Education & Qualifications Associate’s degree in a related field required. Any combination of education and experience may be considered. Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in CT/MRI is required. Experience with 3D reformations/post‑processing and/or supporting imaging‑related workflows is required. Advanced knowledge of medical imaging principles, including tissue contrast, image quality, and applications. Advanced knowledge and skills in 3D post‑processing and image reconstruction procedures. Medical imaging examination preparation, and medical imaging safety and screening procedures. Advanced knowledge of computer systems and operating systems (e.g., Unix, Windows, Mac, or Linux) and ability to troubleshoot system and imaging issues. Ability to identify images for post‑processing, recognize artifacts, and respond to detailed requests for specific views depicting anatomy and/or pathology. Ability to collaborate effectively with radiologists and other professional colleagues. Licenses and Certifications ARRT‑RTR – Registered Tech‑Radiography, ARRT required or California Radiologic Tech (CRT) – Certified by the State of California Department of Health Services in Diagnostic Radiology required. ARMRIT – Amer Reg Magnetic Imaging Res Tech required. Advanced ARRT registry (e.g., CT, MR) preferred.
