ESS Test TechnicianThe ESS Test Technician is responsible for performing environmental stress screening and testing to validate product performance under various conditions, ensuring compliance with MIL-STD-810 and customer specifications. This role involves operating environmental test equipment, maintaining detailed documentation, and supporting engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-quality products.Job ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain environmental test equipment, including thermal chambers, vibration tables, and centrifuges, ensuring proper calibration and reliability.Conduct environmental tests such as temperature cycling, thermal shock, burn-in, random/sine vibration (powered and unpowered), and constant acceleration according to MIL-STD-810 and customer specifications.Set up test fixtures and instrumentation per test procedures, monitor test progress, and intervene when anomalies are detected to ensure test integrity.Troubleshoot and resolve equipment or test setup issues, identifying and recommending equipment upgrades or replacements as needed.Record, analyze, and report test results with accuracy and completeness, maintaining detailed test logs and chain of custody documentation.Generate comprehensive test reports and present findings to engineering teams to support product validation and design improvements.Coordinate preventative maintenance and service calls, documenting equipment maintenance history and calibration records.Work from schematics, work instructions, drawings, and operating procedures while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and compliance with relevant standards.Collaborate with engineering teams to refine test procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives for test processes.Cross-train and mentor new employees and junior technicians, while communicating goals and priorities with management to maintain project deadlines.Required QualificationsHS Diploma or equivalentTypically requires 2(+) years in environmental or laboratory testing with demonstrated knowledge and experience with data acquisition systems and/or test instrumentation.Proficiency in operating environmental test systems (thermal chambers, shakers, etc.), understanding of basic electronics, and ability to read technical drawings/schematics.Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.Effective written and verbal communication skills with team-oriented approach and ability to collaborate across departments.Strong organizational and time management abilities with problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.Preferred QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's in electronics, engineering technology, or a related field.Previous experience in aerospace or defense industries.Experience with environmental chamber programming and automation.Physical DemandsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.This position requires you to access information that is subject to U.S. export regulations.
