May assist in developing treatment plans, carrying out routine functions, and documenting treatment progress within the scope of treatment plans established by a physical therapist.Performs modalities/therapeutic interventions by accepted standards of care and department policies and procedures.Participates/assists with updates in the formal plan of care to address individual patient needs.Provides effective instruction to the patient and family through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training.Initiate, develop, and maintain collaborative interactions with internal and external team members, patients, and families to improve patient outcomes. Productive and efficient in daily operations.Valid license required in state of practice.EducationALD - Associate's Level Degree – Physical Therapy AssistantCertification/LicensurePhysical Therapist Assistant License (PTA) – VirginiaBasic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)ExperiencePrevious physical therapy assistant experience (preferred)Sentara Therapy Center - Coliseum is sensitive to each individual's fitness needs, including the physically limited, the elderly and those in chronic pain.
