Job Description
The Material Handler II plays a key role in safely receiving, inspecting, moving, tracking, storing, and shipping custom-made servers and components in a regulated manufacturing environment. This position ensures accurate processing of product and process documentation, supports production operations, and may assist in training other Material Handlers and supporting the Team Lead when needed. The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to ISO, GMP, and Lean principles, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform the safe receiving, inspection, movement, tracking, storage, and shipment of custom-made servers and components.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area and carry out all material handling activities in an organized and efficient manner.
- Review and process product and process documentation accurately, and implement appropriate corrective actions when needed.
- Use an MRP system to enter and retrieve accurate data related to inventory, transactions, and product movement.
- Maintain product inventory by receiving, identifying, labeling, and storing product within the warehouse in accordance with established processes and procedures.
- Ensure products ship within required deadlines and maintain clear communication and updates with internal facility staff regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to ISO procedures, Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Lean principles in all daily activities.
- Work with safety, efficiency, and accuracy as ongoing priorities, ensuring quality and safety standards are consistently followed.
- Support the Production team as needed by supplying materials, components, and accurate documentation.
- Report events, deviations, or activities outside normal parameters to the appropriate person or Team Lead and assist in resolving issues within operational and safety guidelines.
- Provide constructive feedback and suggestions for workflow and process improvements.
- Handle delicate and high-value products with exceptional care and attention to detail.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, in a safe and compliant manner, where qualified.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience in shipping and receiving operations.
- 3+ years of experience in material handling, including processing and documentation.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of warehousing experience in a regulated environment such as FDA, ISO, or GMP.
- At least 2 years of experience in picking, pulling, packaging, shipping, and receiving.
- 1+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Experience using MRP or ERP systems (such as Oracle).
- Ability to accurately review, process, and maintain product and process documentation.
- Proficiency in inventory control, including receiving, identifying, labeling, and storing products.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when working with delicate and expensive products.
- Effective leadership communication skills to support team coordination and training.
- Ability to adhere to ISO, GMP, GDP, Lean, and Manufacturing Process Instructions.
- Capability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely, where applicable.
- Commitment to working safely, efficiently, and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in warehousing environments that follow FDA, ISO, GDP, or Lean principles.
- Familiarity with Oracle or similar MRP/ERP systems.
- Exposure to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
- Experience providing feedback on workflow and process improvements.
- Prior involvement in supporting or training other material handlers or team members.
- Comfort working with custom-made, high-value technical products such as servers and components.

Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing and warehouse setting on a larger campus, with day-to-day work occurring in a relatively small warehouse area. The schedule follows an alternative workweek of Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime shift. The environment involves handling delicate, high-value custom-made servers and components, requiring careful attention to detail and adherence to strict quality and regulatory standards. Operations follow FDA, ISO, GMP, GDP, Lean, and Manufacturing Process Instructions, with a strong emphasis on safety, organization, and cleanliness. Employees regularly use MRP or ERP systems, such as Oracle, to manage inventory and documentation, and may operate forklifts or other material handling equipment in line with safety guidelines. The setting combines a structured, process-driven atmosphere with close collaboration among warehouse and production teams.
