Senior Mental Health and Wellness Clinician

Senior Mental Health and Wellness Clinician Providence Mission Hospital, Mission Viejo, CA – Per Diem, 12‑hour evening shifts. Role Overview Under the direction of the executive director or designee, clinicians serve on the modified PET (psychiatric emergency) team for both the Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach campuses. Responsibilities Provide behavioral health evaluations and coordinate discharge planning for psychiatric and chemical dependency patients. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the broader healthcare team to facilitate outpatient and inpatient referrals and transfers. Evaluate and place patients on 5150 holds in accordance with Orange County Health Care Agency regulations. Participate in on‑call PET coverage, maintaining competency through training and biannual re‑designation. Model SJHS core values and support the hospital mission statement. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field; or Ph.D. in Psychology; or Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Certification: LPS Designation (Orange County) at hire or within 90 days. California license: Clinical Social Worker, Professional Counselor, Marriage & Family Therapist, or Psychologist upon hire. Provider BLS (American Heart Association) upon hire. Minimum of one year experience providing crisis intervention and/or patient intake evaluation services in an acute or free‑standing facility. Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $41.81 – $64.91 per hour, with potential for shift differentials, standby/on‑call pay, overtime, premiums, and bonus opportunities.
