Youth Care WorkerProvides case management assistance through intakes, transportation and provides support in day-to-day functions of the safety wellbeing of the children. Assess relatives and/or sponsors at place of release to ensure their identification. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Ability: Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.Mathematical Ability: Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills: Microsoft Office SuitePreferred Education/ Experience/ Skills:Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.1+ years' experience working with children and families.Attainment of at least 21 years of age.The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
