Network Architect

Salary: $71,000 - 90,000 per year Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in network engineering, consulting, or technical implementation, preferably in a VAR, MSP, or IT services environment.
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot enterprise network environments.
• Strong knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP; switching, firewalls, wireless architecture, and security practices.
• Substantial understanding of the OSI model and networking protocols.
• Familiarity with platforms and configurations from Cisco, HPE, Extreme, Fortinet, or other mainstream vendors.
• Experience with network documentation standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with client stakeholders, including IT professionals, department heads, and executives, and to explain technical information in business-relevant terms.
• Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, problem-solving, troubleshooting, written, verbal, and face-to-face communication skills.
• Network certifications from Cisco, HPE Aruba, Extreme, Fortinet, or other providers are preferred.
• Must live in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area or within reasonable commuting distance of our Ardham offices; relocation assistance is not available.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship, and pass background and employment verification checks.

• Consult with clients to assess technical needs and understand business objectives.
• Design and deploy network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, SD-WAN, VPN, and ZTNA.
• Implement secure, segmented, resilient network topologies and configure routing protocols, VLANs, VPNs, traffic policies, and security settings.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for sales discovery, solution design, and proposal development.
• Present technical solutions to audiences ranging from IT professionals to executives and leadership teams.
• Work with account managers and vendors to align technical proposals with customer needs.
• Troubleshoot network issues and provide responsive client support.
• Identify and proactively address risks, performance bottlenecks, and misconfigurations in client environments.
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve escalated issues.
• Record work in the ticketing system to support billing, tracking, and knowledge sharing.
• Apply industry frameworks and best practices for network security, monitoring, and configuration management.
• Document network architectures, configurations, and changes according to internal standards.
• Help improve engineering processes and documentation standards.
