Introduction The Division of Parks and Recreation operates and maintains 17 state parks and related preserves and greenways throughout Delaware. Summary Statement The Division of Parks & Recreation owns/maintains over 40 tenant houses statewide. This year-round position will be responsible for the tracking and execution of building maintenance for 24 units throughout the northern portion of the state. Essential Functions Performs repairs and upgrades to rental units within the northern region. Performs regularly scheduled preventative maintenance within intern housing units. Assists Housing Administrator with annual housing inspections. Assists Housing Administrator with maintaining current lists for tasks to be completed for each unit. Acts as liaison between Housing Administrator and contractors to ensure contracted work is completed in a timely manner and meets the Division's standard. Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and good communication skills. Maintain a positive attitude. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Six months experience in performing work in a variety of trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, or HVAC. Six months experience in record keeping. Knowledge of estimating cost, time, and materials for projects. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked, or cancelled, or disqualified from driving). This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.
