PLUMBING/MECHANICAL INSPECTOR

Job Overview The City of Woonsocket is looking for a Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector. The incumbent reports to the Director of Planning & Development and the Building Official and is responsible for ensuring compliance with ordinances and regulations related to residential and business plumbing and mechanical installations, including repair and alteration of plumbing fixtures and mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities Review all drawings and specifications for plumbing applications. Issue permits and file complaints for plumbing violations. Inspect all new and updated plumbing installations. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Five (5) years of experience as a plumber or plumbing contractor. Thorough knowledge of all plumbing‑related ordinances and regulations. Valid licenses: Rhode Island Master Plumber, Pipe Fitter, Master Mechanical, Journeyman Contractor, and Plumber. Certified as a Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector by the State of Rhode Island Building Code Standards Committee. Maintain state certification for the duration of employment. Employment Details Salary: $1,307.69 per week. Classification: Non-Union/Non-Classified. Hours of Work: 40‑hour per week. Work is in‑person. Application Process Open until filled.
