About the role You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations, determining donor eligibility and managing donor adverse events. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements. Perform physical examination, blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions occurring at the facility and follow SOPs for medical emergencies. Develop Center Physician standing orders and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues related to donor safety and eligibility. Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is needed by occupational health/ER. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Current state license or certification as LPN or LVN. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Complete FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years clinical or hospital experience. Compensation and Benefits Summary Location: USA - TX - San Antonio Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 – $33.44 U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, 401(k) with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits. Employees also receive up to 80 hours of sick time annually and new hires accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
