Registered Nurse – NICU (Level III)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to premature and medically complex neonates in a Level III NICU setting, managing patients across gestational ages from under 24 to over 34 weeks
• Manage ventilatory support modalities including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP, Bubble CPAP, HFNC, and Vapotherm, as well as ETT/NT suctioning and chest tube management
• Perform and assist with arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC, IV starts, blood product administration, IV vasopressors, and phlebotomy
• Support neonatal nutrition through bottle, breast, and gavage feedings; manage OG/NG/NJ tubes; provide breastfeeding education and breast milk handling; perform APGAR scoring and developmental care
• Conduct sepsis workups, NAS monitoring, blood glucose monitoring, hyperbilirubinemia assessment, phototherapy management, and maintain isolation precautions
• Administer neonatal medications including surfactants, steroids, antibiotics/antivirals, and anti-seizure medications with accurate neonatal dosage calculations

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of NICU nursing experience
• Active Pennsylvania Single State or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• PA Fingerprints required prior to start
• Must be available to complete all pre-start compliance requirements before the scheduled start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level III NICU environment with high-acuity neonatal patient populations
• Familiarity with meconium aspiration, RDS, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience attending high-risk deliveries alongside neonatology staff
