Construction Manager

The Construction Manager I manages, oversees, and coordinates all facets of the construction phase of a college facility project, including mobilization, construction, and closeout. Responsibilities include, without limitation, reviewing and summarizing project data, conducting field checks for compliance of construction with design documents and DSA requirements, coordinating with public agencies during construction for compliance with off-site work, and monitoring, reporting, and providing recommendations and solutions to the College Project Director, Project Managers, and PMO relative to current project status, delivery objectives, schedule, costs, budget, staffing, delays, disputes, changes, and compliance with SOP and other construction requirements. The Construction Manager I performs day-to-day construction contract administration, assisting Project Managers in bid analysis, change order analysis and negotiation, pre-construction meetings, and related coordinating activities. The Construction Manager I performs daily direct observations of conditions in the field and is familiar with all aspects of the construction process and supporting documentation. The Construction Manager I works with the Design Team, contractors, inspectors, DSA, and others to resolve complex construction-related issues in a timely manner and within budget. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 4 years in construction management of commercial and/or public facilities, managing multiple construction projects BA or BS in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a closely related field OR minimum of 4 years in construction management of commercial and/or public facilities, managing multiple construction projects, with 4 years additional qualifying experience in excess of the minimum stated above substituted for the required education Preferred Qualifications Experience within a large capital improvement program and familiarity with relevant provisions of the California Public Contract Code Experience in formal construction partnering Current and valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architects Board, or as a Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists Current and valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential from the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI) Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction and design processes or similar processes Knowledge of all parts of the project life cycle, including planning, design, construction, and closeout Ability to multi-task, solve problems, and successfully deliver projects #J-18808-Ljbffr Morgner Construction Management Corp.
