The position is for a Registered Nurse in a 20-bed Intensive Care Unit. The unit is staffed with a charge nurse and several RNs during the day and night shifts. Patient ratios vary based on acuity, with assignments including 1:1 for critical patients. The patient population includes mixed medical and surgical cases. Equipment used includes IV pumps, telemetry monitors, and various life-support devices. Typical procedures performed on the unit include central line and arterial line insertions, chest tube insertions, and intubation. Candidates should be organized yet adaptable. Experience with critical drips and ventilators is preferred. Every third weekend shift is required, with no on-call responsibilities.
