About the Role:

The Nurse Practitioner - Psych Certified plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality psychiatric nursing care within healthcare settings across the United States. This position focuses on monitoring, evaluating, and improving patient care standards specifically in psychiatric units, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice guidelines. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and safety. The Nurse Quality - Psych Certified also serves as a resource and mentor for nursing staff, promoting evidence-based practices and continuous professional development. Ultimately, this position aims to foster a culture of excellence in psychiatric nursing care that supports both patients and healthcare providers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
• Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (e.g., PMH-BC) from a recognized certifying body.
• Minimum of three years of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and healthcare regulations related to psychiatric care.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data analytics tools.
• Advanced degree in Nursing, Healthcare Quality, or related field.
• Previous experience in a quality management or quality assurance role within a psychiatric or behavioral health setting.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and other relevant accreditation requirements.
• Leadership experience in multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular audits and assessments of psychiatric nursing care to ensure adherence to established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze patient care data and quality metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for enhanced patient safety.
• Collaborate with clinical teams, management, and quality improvement committees to develop and implement action plans addressing identified issues.
• Provide education, training, and support to nursing staff on best practices, quality standards, and compliance related to psychiatric care.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation for internal review and external regulatory bodies, ensuring transparency and accountability.

The required skills enable the Nurse Practitioner- Psych Certified to effectively assess and monitor psychiatric nursing care quality through data analysis and clinical audits.
