Registered Nurse Emergency Room

This role involves three 12-hour shifts with a schedule from 1:00 PM to 1:30 AM. Every other weekend is required, with additional coverage appreciated. Holidays may be required as needed. Float to a sister emergency department may be necessary. Travelers may float to other locations as needed. Patient ratios are 1:4 during shifts. The position includes care for a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily census averages around 85 patients. Key skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, and various trauma care. Monitoring and interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias are essential components of the role. Isolation precautions and PPE protocols must be followed. Skills in managing dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, procedural sedation administration, and triage are critical. All RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam as part of the onboarding process. Modules will be completed during orientation and are unit-based.
