The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic (WG-8852-10) to join the team at the 12th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, JBSA (Joint Base San Antonio) - Randolph, in Universal City, TX. In this position you would perform duties as an aircraft mechanic in the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, modification, and testing of associated T-6 aircraft!

Hourly wage range for a WG-09 through WG-10 position at Joint Base San Antonio - Randolph: $30.12 - $37.38

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION

- US Citizenship is required.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.

- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

- The employee may be required to work other than "normal" duty hours occasionally to include emergency overtime (as required) and/or weekends on rare occasion.

- An Airframe and Powerplant license and/or associated military experience is required.

- Assists with launch, recovery, servicing, and ground-handling of aircraft.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Completes various levels of maintenance from major overhaul to routine maintenance and servicing of associated T-6 aircraft using appropriate technical data.

- Determines the nature of malfunctions and extent of adjustment or repair required on a number of major aircraft systems such as airframe, landing gear, power plant, gear boxes, pumps, hydraulic, pressurization, utility, fuel, oil, pneumatic, and flight control systems.

- Performs aircraft tow operations, refuels, defuels, jacking, engine runs/operational checkouts, and cabin pressurization checks.

- Accomplishes operational and maintenance record keeping, both manual and automated, associated with aircraft maintenance and repair. Uses associated hand tools and test equipment to include, but not limited to wrenches, torque wrenches, speed wrenches, pneumatic wrenches, external power/air sources, pneudraulic test stands, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA's)

- Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.

- Knowledge of supply procedures, the publication order system, and documentation procedures.

- Knowledge of the makeup, operation, installation, and adjustment of a variety of major interrelated and/or integrated aircraft systems, subsystems, and assemblies such as fuel and hydraulic systems, flight control systems, instrumentation systems, engines, landing gear assemblies, airframe, and control surfaces.
