The purpose of this position is to provide an expert-level medication therapy consultation to the patients and providers, collaborate with the Engineering team and leadership to improve Arine's software platform, and help supervise the Clinical Care support team. This candidate will have a direct impact on patient care and the delivery of our core clinical services, stay continuously up-to-date on developments in the fast-moving drug field, and be aware of emerging patterns, treatment guidelines, and best practices.The Clinical Pharmacist receives assignments and functions under the supervision of the Head of Operations to carry out and supervise direct patient care responsibilities and perform a range of functions that include the maintenance and review of patient medication profiles; counseling patients on appropriate drug use; promoting adherence; developing clinical recommendations; reviewing completed medication reviews by other Virtual Pharmacist users; as well as interacting with other health professionals to help improve patient outcomes.Job duties also include assisting with orienting new team members and Virtual Pharmacist users, facilitating prior authorizations, helping patients with finding financial assistance and transportation to help increase medication adherence, review and evaluate clinical guidelines and workflow processes as assigned.All members of the Clinical Care team are expected to communicate effectively, maintain a cooperative working relationship with clients and colleagues, be respectful and accept constructive feedback professionally, and continuously learn new skills to deliver quality customer service and patient care.What You'll Be DoingEvaluate, assess, and document patient data in Arine's software platform and other programs, prepare written reports, and provide oral reports concerning patient care and team progressComplete efficient and thorough medication review and/or adherence counseling appointmentsReview completed medication reviews and counseling by other Virtual Pharmacist users, as assignedStaff various clinical shifts and work with automation and new technologyRespond to questions by patients, providers, and other professional personnel and team membersParticipate in process improvement meetings to help achieve efficient workflowsCommunicate effectively in both written and oral formats and provide daily sign-out when applicableFollow-up with clinics, providers, pharmacies, and patients to resolve patient issues and concerns in a timely mannerDevelop intervention strategies to optimize medication utilization, achieve quality measures, and other established goalsIdentify opportunities for improvement regarding workflow processes and Arine's software platformAssist with obtaining referrals and authorizationsGuide and help oversee other Clinical Care team membersOrient new Virtual Pharmacist users to workflows and the Virtual PharmacistEvaluate and help develop clinical algorithmsComply with all company policies and state and federal rules and regulationsWho You Are and What You BringDoctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college/universityUtah Licensed Pharmacist and in good standing (multiple state licenses are a plus)Completion of a PGY-1 residency, or equivalent experienceAbility to review and assess the appropriateness of prescriptions with respect to age-specific, disease-state-specific considerationsAbility to engage with patients, promote adherence, and treat them with empathy and compassionAbility to organize and set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilitiesKnowledge of chronic disease states, such as diabetes, heart failure, COPD, asthma, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, dyslipidemia, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, and thought disordersAbility to apply judgment and make informed decisions in order to work independently and meet deadlinesAbility to work effectively within a team and foster effective working relationships and build consensusExperience working with patients of different cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgroundsHas knowledge of influence of patient's age, sex, concomitant disease states, concurrent drug therapy, foods and diagnostic procedures on drug activity and dispositionHas knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibilityHas knowledge of prescription and non-prescription drugs and drug products and their indications, efficacy, dosage, mechanisms of action, major contraindications and potential side effectsWillingness and ability to obtain registered pharmacist license in other states, as neededExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong computer skills, including proficiency in Google Workspace and Mac (Apple) environment, with comfort using collaboration and contact-center tools such as Slack and Five9, navigating multiple browser-based systems simultaneously, utilizing keyboard shortcuts, maintaining a high typing speed (WPM), and performing basic technical troubleshooting to stay productive in a phone-based environmentAbility to work 40 hours/week (within company operating hours of Monday-Friday, 6AM-6PM Pacific Time, with up to two rotating Saturday shifts/month)Nice-to-HavesExperience with other electronic medical recordsBoard certification in a specialty areaExperience working in a busy healthcare environmentRemote Work RequirementsAn established private work area that ensures information privacyReliable internet capable of low latency with the ability to carry video and voice calls without breaking upThis role is remote, but you will be required to come to on-site meetings multiple times per year. Ultimately, the final pay decision will consider factors such as your experience, job level, location, and other relevant job-related criteria. The hourly pay rate for this position is: $57–$65/hour.Seasonality & ScheduleOur Clinical Care team operates within a seasonal business cycle, and we want candidates to have a clear picture of what to expect. During peak season (May through early December), our team plays a vital role in supporting business operations. Workload and scheduling demands increase during this time, and time off may be limited. Optional overtime may also be offered to meet business needs. Each year, the Clinical Care department observes a holiday shutdown of approximately 2–3 weeks between late December and early January. Please note that while Arine remains operational, the Clinical Care department is closed during this period. Following the shutdown, the team transitions back to full capacity on a modified schedule through February, during which some shifts or hours may differ from standard operations.
