Environmental Group Leader
Our client is an employee-owned engineering firm that provides civil, geotechnical, environmental, planning, landscape architecture, survey and construction services. Consistently ranked in the top 100 of ENR’s Top 500 Design Firms, our client's markets are diverse and include transportation, energy, water/wastewater, commercial development, industry, healthcare, education and government. We recruit top talent and are currently seeking a full-time Group Leader to join our team in the Memphis, Tennessee area.
Responsibilities:
Group Leaders are responsible for: staff supervision (technicians, administrative personnel, and professionals), training, mentoring, and coaching of employees; meeting objectives in safety, quality, human resources, finances and risk management; and staffing projects with appropriately trained and certified personnel, maximizing staff utilization and project profitability. The Environmental Group Leader in Memphis also serves as a Community Leader, partnering with Memphis Group Leaders in other Business Units to give our client visibility in the community and professional organizations. The Group Leader coordinates with their project managers and leaders/project managers in other Business units regarding potential opportunities and supports them with resources needed to win and complete projects. This position requires effective technical, team leadership, project management, client management, business development, and communication skills.
Qualifications:
• BS in engineering, geology or environmental related science;• 10+ years of experience conducting and managing environmental projects;• Professional registration preferred;• Demonstrated successful team leadership and management with a good understanding of safety policies/procedures, quality, business metrics, human resources policies/procedures, risk management concepts.• Excellent communication skills with clients, staff, and regulatory personnel.
