Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils. Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher. Promote self‑esteem and independence. Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance and direction of the teacher. Use successful strategies to develop the communication of the children you support. Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly, and supportive environment in the classroom to support the class teacher. Assist the teacher with the preparation of teaching and learning materials and subject matter. Monitor pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately record pupil achievement/progress as directed. Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems etc. Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents and encouraging pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour in line with established school policy. Establish constructive relationships with parents/carers. Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/learning programmes taking into consideration adaptations needed for children to access the curriculum. Support the use of ICT in learning activities and develop pupils' competence and independence in its use. Prepare, maintain, and use equipment/resources required to meet the lesson plans/relevant learning activity and assist pupils in their use. Desired Criteria NVQChildcare Level 2 or equivalent qualification or evidence of commencing to worktowards this qualification Abilityto apply child development and inclusive learning strategies. Experienceof working with children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities Atleast a years’ experience of working within a school setting Generalawareness of inclusion, especially within a school setting Evidenceof training and professional development around curriculum objectives GCSE(or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above Understandingschool policies and safeguarding. Assistingpupils with literacy, numeracy, and general learning. Developingbasic communication and behaviour management skills. Abilityto maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders such asHeadteachers, staff and parents.
