Manufacturing Systems Engineer

Salary: $62,500 - 85,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline
• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with DMAIC concepts, SPC, MES, and Lean Manufacturing principles
• Familiarity with common drafting and design software is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively across functions
• Ability to travel and provide personal transportation for local or day travel, including between our facilities

• Design, implement, and sustain manufacturing and engineering control systems for inline quality monitoring and control
• Integrate legacy equipment with sensors, vision systems, data acquisition software, and data systems to provide real-time process visibility and replace manual checks with electronic controls
• Develop and regularly report Health of Line metrics using process, machine, sensor, PLC, and ERP transaction data; interpret findings and communicate them to stakeholders
• Partner with Quality Engineering on routine FMEA reviews and develop continuous improvement projects that add automated process and product controls and reduce risk
• Work with process owners and engineers to implement continuous improvement projects
• Collaborate with IT and Digital Manufacturing teams on MES, SPC, data collection, and analytics platforms, representing engineering and customer needs during implementation
• Work with Operations and Production teams to support shop-floor usability, adoption, and sustainability of systems
• Integrate inspection, data collection, and MES electronic gate systems into a reliable, user-friendly inline QA/QC system
• Communicate continuous improvement project progress across the company to audiences with varied technical expertise
• Own the SPC systems and, once launched, the Engineering KPI dashboard
• Collaborate with domestic and international sites on continuous improvement project implementation
• Perform other assigned duties and special projects

We are hiring a Manufacturing Systems Engineer to help us shift from detecting defects to preventing them through robust system design and process control. This role works across Quality, IT, Engineering, and Operations. The position is based at 111 Business Park Drive in Utica, New York, with a Monday–Friday schedule and office hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The annual salary range is $62,500–$85,000, with the actual offer depending on relevant experience, skills, knowledge, education, and internal equity.
