Nurse LeaderThe Community Health Services Division of King County's Department of Public Health (DPH) is looking for a talented nurse leader to join the Downtown Public Health Clinic Team. The candidate will be part of Downtown Public Health Clinic Leadership team and will be accountable for the oversight and supervision of the Pathways Clinic, a program that serves vulnerable populations. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about Public Health approaches and harm reduction models of care. Pathways provides low barrier Medication for Opiate Use Disorder and primary care services for this underserved population. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, quality improvement experience, and strong public health clinical experience. The position reports directly to the Area Manager and is expected to work closely and respond to program management needs. This position will be involved in leading program improvements and evaluation and may provide back-up coverage for other PHSS's within Downtown Public Health Center. We're seeking candidates who are representative of the diverse populations served by Public Health – Seattle & King County. The successful candidate in this position will have overall responsibility for the hiring and daily supervision of a team that may include Public Health Nurses, Registered Nurses, Medical Assistants, Social Workers, and Community Health Workers. In addition, they will be a key member of a unified leadership team to provide the highest quality of integrated care for our clients.Job DutiesDirect supervision of the staff assigned to services and programs at a Public Health Center to include hiring, performance evaluations, training, counseling, team building and discipline of staff. Provide support and training to staff regarding use of reflection, trauma informed practices and reduction of secondary trauma. Work collaboratively with the community and other agencies to assess the public's needs, assist in development of program goals and objectives and implementation of Pathways Clinic programming. Coordinate schedules for UW Residents/and or Fellows. Perform Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance work, including chart reviews, to ensure compliance with clinical service. Work collaboratively with the lead physician to ensure patient workflow and supervision of the care team. Work closely with the Program Manager regarding funding, data and performance measures, and program requirements. And assist other team members on continuous improvement efforts. Coordinate, review, and process patient satisfaction and patient grievance surveys and reports, including conducting investigation, analyzing findings, and resolving patient concerns and complaints as needed. Coordinate schedules for UW Fellows, including onboarding of new UW Fellows each year and all work associated to closing out work as they complete their fellowship in clinic. Oversee clinic expansion efforts as the Pathways program increases services to urgent primary care and mobile teams. Collaborate with leadership and staff to define and establish clear roles within the clinic. Perform other duties as assigned.Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, SkillsRequirements: Bachelor's degree in nursing or a master's degree in nursing science or a graduate level nursing degree of MSN, DNP or PhD from an accredited school of nursing. Washington State Registered Nurse License in good standing. Washington State Drivers' License in good standing. Current BLS-CPR for Healthcare Providers. Experience in opiate disorder programs, care coordination, public health, and/or community-based health programs. Demonstrated experience supervising or leading staff in a healthcare, social service, or public health setting.Work Schedule: This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), Career Service position with benefits. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with travel to multiple service sites. This position is exempt and not eligible for overtime. Some schedule flexibility may be required to meet operational needs.Work Location: Downtown Public Health Center, 2124 4th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121.
