Industrial Motor Rebuild Specialist

MagTech (near Savage, MN) is looking for a pro who loves solving mechanical puzzles. Does this sound like you?

• Do you thrive on taking a motor from teardown to a clean, verified test pass?
• Can you read and apply mechanical diagrams to troubleshoot complex issues?
• Are you comfortable entering accurate data and closing out computer-based work orders?
• Do you keep your tools and bench spotless and organized?
• Are you willing to jump in with warehouse and shipping tasks when the bench is quiet?

• Perform end-to-end motor repairs—from simple fixes to complex rebuilds—including disassembly, cleaning, component repair/replacement, assembly, and testing.
• Diagnose issues using advanced mechanical skills and product-specific diagrams.
• Carry out scheduled evaluations to define parts and labor needs per established procedures.
• Execute repair tests according to company standards and document results.
• Order all required parts for each unit; keep work orders and data entry accurate.
• Provide daily updates to your supervisor on progress and any schedule conflicts.
• Organize priorities as directed by the Supervisor/Lead and maintain a clean, efficient work area.
• Attend product and safety trainings; meet repair efficiency targets tied to technician level guidelines.
• Conduct routine daily inspection and maintenance on repair and testing equipment.
• Assist with warehouse and general shipping needs during downtime.

• High School Diploma plus related Technical School Certification (required).
• Associate degree in Mechanics/Mechanical Engineering or comparable education/experience (preferred).
• 1–5 years working on electric motors or mechanical equipment (preferred); other mechanical backgrounds considered.
• Computer skills for accurate data entry and completion of computer-based work orders.
• Proficient with manual, pneumatic, and electrical hand tools.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organization and housekeeping.
• Good math and interpersonal skills; team-focused attitude.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including potential off-shift hours and weekends.

• Starting Pay Rate: $21–$28 based on experience.
• Hours: 40–45 hours weekly; minimal OT; morning shift.
