Dentist

Performs restorative, prosthodontic, surgical, endodontic, interceptive orthodontic and periodontal treatment as provided in general dentistry.

Essential Functions

• Educating patients on oral health care
• Examine teeth and diagnose patients' dental conditions using X-rays
• Assessing treatment options and agreeing on treatment plans with patients
• Carrying out agreed dental treatments, such as restoring teeth affected by decay, crown and bridge work, etc.
• Maintaining patients' dental records
• Adhere to the Tribe's policies and procedures
• Ensures compliance with Tribal, Federal, State and Local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance

Working Conditions

• Lifting Requirements: Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate from an accredited dental school

Experience

• Three (3) years of experience in practicing dentistry
• Knowledge and experience working with Alaska Native/American Indian populations preferred

Preferred

• Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities

License/Certification

• Alaska dental licensure required
• Valid Alaska Driver License and must remain insurable under Tribal policy
