Staff Pharmacist

Job Title: Pharmacist Location: Asheville, NC 28805 Job Type: Contract to Hire Duration: 06/15/2026 – 09/14/2026 Schedule: 4 Days Per Week | Monday–Friday Rotating Schedule Shift Hours: 10-Hour Shifts (9:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM) We are currently seeking a licensed Pharmacist for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Asheville, NC. Key Responsibilities: • Accept, verify, and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently • Monitor medication compliance, usage patterns, and identify potential drug-related concerns • Counsel patients on prescription and non-prescription medications, including dosage, side effects, storage, and drug interactions • Provide patient education on medical devices such as glucose monitors and blood pressure equipment • Prepare and compound medications, including sterile preparations following established procedures • Maintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation while ensuring confidentiality • Monitor pharmaceutical inventory and maintain appropriate stock levels • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care • Supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, interns, and other support staff • Provide additional patient services such as smoking cessation counseling and wellness education Qualifications: • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required • Active Pharmacist license in good standing required • Strong knowledge of medication therapy management, patient counseling, and pharmacy operations • Experience with sterile compounding and pharmacy workflow preferred • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment This opportunity is ideal for pharmacists seeking a structured schedule, clinical involvement, and potential long-term career growth.
