Your Mission

As a Jungle Driving School Instructor, you will play a vital role in shaping safe, confident, and responsible drivers. Through classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel training, and positive mentorship, you'll help students develop the skills and confidence needed to navigate the road safely for a lifetime.

Working closely with students, families, and fellow instructors, you'll create an engaging and supportive learning environment that reflects Jungle Driving School's commitment to excellence, safety, and student success.

Key Responsibilities:

Build & Maintain Relationships

• Foster strong connections with students and parents by creating a collaborative environment that supports student learning.
• Understand the unique challenges each student may face and work closely with parents to ensure a positive and rewarding experience.
• Take the time to learn each student's personality and learning style to provide effective instruction and support.

Teach Critical Driving Skills

• Lead students through the Jungle Driving School curriculum while covering all state-required driver education content.
• Teach safe vehicle operation, risk awareness, and defensive driving techniques.
• Help students build confidence behind the wheel while emphasizing responsibility and safety.

In-Vehicle Instruction

• Ride along with student drivers and provide calm, real-time instruction and feedback.
• Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
• Ensure a safe and productive learning environment during every lesson.

Parking & Vehicle Control

• Teach proper parking techniques, including parallel parking and other common parking scenarios.
• Help students develop confidence maneuvering a standard-sized vehicle in a variety of environments.

Roadway Navigation

• Instruct students in city traffic, residential areas, highways, rural roads, and varying traffic conditions.
• Prepare students to safely respond to real-world driving situations.

Traffic Laws & Road Safety

• Educate students on state motor vehicle laws, traffic regulations, road signs, highway markings, and safe driving practices.
• Ensure students understand their responsibilities as licensed drivers.

Student Assessment

• Evaluate student knowledge and driving performance through observation, testing, and feedback.
• Document student progress and communicate recommendations when appropriate.

Team Support

• Collaborate with fellow instructors and leadership to deliver an exceptional student experience.
• Assist with other duties and projects that support the success of the driving program.

What We're Looking For

• Strong knowledge of motor vehicle laws and safe vehicle operation.
• Exceptional communication and teaching abilities.
• Patience, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm while working with new drivers.
• Experience working with or teaching teenagers.
• Adaptability and flexibility in varying instructional and weather conditions.
• A positive, engaging personality that makes learning enjoyable while maintaining high instructional standards.
• A passion for helping students gain confidence and independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of experience in behind-the-wheel instruction, driver education, teaching, coaching, training, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with teenagers preferred.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Current Driver Education Instructor certification preferred (training may be provided for the right candidate).
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to spend extended periods of time in a vehicle.
• Physical ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.

Employment Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, including criminal history, motor vehicle records, and drug screening.
