Policy Manager - Trust and Safety

Location New York City, NYC (Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite) Unfortunately, sponsorship is not available for this position. We are partnering with a rapidly growing technology organization seeking a Policy Manager to join its Trust & Safety team. This individual will play a key role in developing and scaling content policies that support a safe and responsible online experience across a variety of digital products and services. This is a highly collaborative position that works closely with Product, Operations, Legal, Research, and Leadership teams to develop policy frameworks, operational guidelines, and enforcement strategies aligned with evolving industry standards and global regulations. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and implement Trust & Safety and content governance policies. Define policy frameworks related to topics such as misinformation, harmful content, hate speech, fraud, illegal activity, and emerging online safety risks. Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate policy considerations into new and existing products throughout the development lifecycle. Evaluate policy effectiveness and recommend improvements based on user behavior, regulatory developments, and industry trends. Establish content classification standards across text, image, audio, and video content. Support escalation processes for complex content-related issues and policy decisions. Help drive policy strategy in areas related to AI, user-generated content, and platform integrity. Communicate policy decisions and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization. Required Qualifications 3+ years of professional experience in Product Policy, Trust & Safety, Content Policy, or a related field. Experience developing and operationalizing content policies. Strong understanding of online safety, platform governance, or content moderation environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities. Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Background working with nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, or public policy organizations. Experience with content moderation operations, content classification, or content review programs. Interest or experience in Responsible AI, AI governance, or emerging technology policy. Experience supporting social media, online communities, marketplaces, or other user-generated content platforms. Experience building training, education, or policy enablement programs. Education Bachelors or Master’s in public policy, Anthropology, Sociology, Communications, Legal or related field.
