Registered Nurse Interventional Radiology

Job Summary:


The Registered Nurse in Pain Management / Interventional Radiology provides skilled nursing care and support in a specialized clinical setting. The role involves patient assessment, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams within the Radiology and Pain departments. The nurse must have at least 2 years of relevant experience, including Pain Management, Interventional Radiology, and preferably ICU, and ensure adherence to safety protocols including the use of lead protection.

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients undergoing pain management and interventional radiology procedures.
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Participate in on-call rotation covering nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
• Float within Radiology and Pain departments as needed to meet facility demands.
• Maintain compliance with safety protocols, including wearing lead protection during procedures.
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic charting system.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license valid for the state of practice.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in Pain Management and Interventional Radiology; ICU experience preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, Level 1 Trauma Center environment.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation preferred for floating duties.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with Cerner electronic medical record system.
• Prior ICU nursing experience.
• Local candidates within 75 miles preferred.

Special Considerations:

• Mandatory participation in on-call rotation: weekdays 12am-8am, weekends and holidays 24 hours.
• On-call schedule rotates among all nurses; no holidays off except when on call.
• Maximum of 5 RTO (return to office) days per year with no more than 2 consecutive; no RTO before/after holidays or on weekends.
• Floating between Radiology and Pain departments is required within scope of practice.
• Staff must wear lead protection during procedures.
• Scrub color: Navy Blue (not provided).

Scheduling:

• Work schedule consists of five 8-hour shifts, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM.
• Occasional weekend day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM may be required.
• Every other weekend work required, averaging 2 weekends per month.
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
